5 Simple Steps To Designing Brand Guidelines

Having a clear and consistent brand that represents your business, and appeals to your target audience, is something that every business can achieve (and it's extremely powerful).

My job is to turn your brand vision into a tangible style guide. Having this guide will make social posts, website content, business cards, and just about everything else, that much easier to create. It will also make your marketing more effective.

Simple steps to creating your brand guidelines:

1. Market and target audience research

2. Moodboard design

For some examples of moodboards, take a look at the ones below that I created when I was designing my own brand:

3. Develop brand mission, values, voice, philosophies, and more

4. Develop style guidelines including fonts, colours, heading styles, icon styles, and more

5. Collect brand assets

Once you have a style guide, and assets to use throughout your content (such as icons), having a place to store these assets for ease of use can save an immense amount of time. I recommend using Google Drive folders.

Conclusion

As short as it was, I hope this article has shed some light on what brand guidelines are, how to create them, and how you can use them to benefit your business. Remember, The average revenue increase attributed to always presenting your brand consistently is 33% - Lucidpress
